CatInCup Privacy Policy

CatInCup collects no data. Everything — your videos, audio, captions, drafts, and settings — stays on your device. Period.

What we collect

Nothing. CatInCup has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising SDKs, no trackers, and no server of ours that your data could travel to. We cannot see your videos, and neither can anyone else through the app.

How the app works with your content

All processing — silence detection, cutting, caption generation, and export — happens locally on your iPhone. Your videos never leave your device unless you export a result and share it yourself.

Speech-to-text models

Automatic captions run entirely on-device. Depending on your iOS version and chosen language, the app uses Apple's built-in speech models or downloads an open-source speech model (Whisper) over an encrypted connection. This download contains no personal information — it is a one-way fetch of model files. Your audio is never uploaded anywhere.

Permissions the app asks for

• Photo library (add-only): to save exported videos to your Photos. The app does not read your existing library beyond the videos you explicitly pick.
• Microphone: only if you record a voiceover or video inside the app. Recordings stay on your device.
• Speech recognition: used only to turn your video's own audio into captions, on your device.

Purchases

CatInCup Pro subscriptions and the lifetime unlock are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple ID. We never see your payment details, and no purchase information is sent to us — entitlements are checked on-device through Apple's StoreKit.

Children

Since no data is collected from anyone, no data is collected from children either.

If the app's behavior ever changes, this page will be updated first, and the "Last updated" date above will reflect it.
